Gratitude & Love

(Sat Chit Ananda Meditation)

Duration: 15:00

Description: The meditation has two parts: 1) Feeling Love (via 'pure appreciation', which is void of any objects or reasons), and 2) Occasionally thinking one of the Sanskrit mantras from my Soul Calm Know Thyself meditation - 'Sat Chit Ananda'.

  • Sat = Truth, absolute being or existence - that which is enduring and unchanging.

  • Chit = Consciousness, knowingness, and the light of perception.

  • Ananda = Bliss, a state of peaceful happiness, joy, love and sensual pleasure.

The verb of ‘Sat’ is ‘to be’ (‘being’ or ‘that which is’) and a description of the True Self - the ‘I’ that is the knower of all experiences and the ‘I’ that all phenomena arises from and within. It is not about becoming or creating something new — it’s about recognizing what you already are and what already is.

  • Sat = “I am the changeless (abundant) existence behind and within all form.”

  • Chit = “I am the awareness that knows all experience.”

  • Ānanda = “My true nature is peace, love and joy, not dependent on external things.”

Thinking this mantra (like we do during this meditation) can dissolve the illusion (māyā) of separateness, revealing wholeness and unity.

Gratitude is a direct pathway into Being Love. At its essence, Love is the recognition of wholeness — the felt knowing that all is included and belongs.

Gratitude is a bridge that takes us from frustration, unsafety and lack into presence, secureness and abundant wholeness. Gratitude trains our brain to notice what is already here rather than what is missing.

This simple shift — from absence to presence — aligns us with the same vibration as Love. Because love and gratitude both say the same thing, in different languages: “There is ‘good’ here and now — my being, my life, is already full.”

Resting in this recognition, the heart naturally opens and Love exists without effort.

Each time we are thankful — not as a mental act but as a sincere seeing — we step out of the ego’s story and return to the space of Being (i.e. what 'is'). Therefore, it’s not that gratitude creates love — it reveals it. Love was always here, waiting to be felt beneath the noise of dissatisfaction.

Physiologically, gratitude calms the nervous system, synchronises the heart and brain rhythms, and opens a state of receptivity ideal for healing and manifesting.

Spiritually, this coherence is the same harmony that Love itself is made of. In that state, we don’t just think lovingly — we emanate Love.

We can recognise ‘The One Universal Aware Being’ expressing itself as ‘me’, and in a multitude of beings and things. In other words, Gratitude is a way to feel Love, and Love is the result of pure seeing and recognised belonging.
